Epi 124: Balancing Your Root Chakra - a Guided Meditation

When was the last time you gave yourself a mental and emotional boost? Every once in a while, we need to reset and bring ourselves back to center. Feeding yourself positive affirmations allows you to elevate your mood, find a sense of peace, and shift your perspective to help you keep your life together, girl! The Get Your Life Together, Girl mini bi-monthly reset is here to help you reset and remember who you are.

Welcome to root chakra balancing meditation, a guided meditation to meet yourself and witness your wholeness through clearing and reclaiming your root chakra.

Please settle in now, finding a comfortable position as you relax your shoulders down your spine, release your jaw, and let go of any tension, whether in your mind or body. As you settle, begin to deepen your breath, inhaling through your nose, allowing your breath to find the bottom of your lungs, and slowly release it through your nose with a slow and steady exhale. Continue to breathe with both ease and effort.

You are taking a journey now inside your mind to meet yourself. A journey that allows you to lean into who and what you are, find acceptance, and reset and commit to yourself so that you know you are always home within yourself.

Take another full deep breath and slowly let it go. If your eyes are not already closed, please close softly close them now.

Clear your mind.

With your next inhale, visualize yourself in your mind’s eye. Do not try to change the image that comes in; instead, see yourself as you are. Allow yourself to take up space.

Now, visualize that a mirror is in the corner of the room you are in. It’s a beautiful, ornate mirror calling for your attention.

Allow yourself to move slowly to the mirror and see yourself in the reflection. Notice the finest detail of your form. If the voice of negativity begins to sneak in, invite it to leave now. That mistruth is not welcome here now or ever again. This is a journey of opening and release—a journey of finding your way back home.

As you peer into the mirror, let your eyes trace up and down your body.

At the base of your spine, visualize a red ball of energy forming and shining from your first chakra, the root. See the red energy circle without stopping. Let this light grow without question. Just be within it. Now, move slightly below your navel in the second chakra, the sacral charka, and welcome an orange circle of light. Let the lights spin beautifully. Next, trace your eyes to the solar plexus above the navel, in the 3rd charka, and allow a yellow circle to shine.

Take another full breath, holding on to the image of you and when you are ready, move to the middle of your chest, the 4th chakra, the Heart. See this space filled with a brilliant hue of green. Feel its comfort.

Let your eyes trace to the middle of your thought, in the fifth chakra, the throat chakra, and see a vivid blue appear.

With the spinning of the red, orange, yellow, green, and blue wheels of energy, move to the center of your forehead, the brow chakra, the third eye, and the sixth chakra. Let the most beautiful light in the hue of indigo shine from your forehead.

Holding onto that beauty, move to the top of your head, letting a pure white light settle in the crown chakra—the 7th and final major charka.

With your body now ablaze in exquisite color, trace back to your spine, the root chakra, as we affirm, clear, and balance.

The health of your root charka powerfully affects all of the other chakras. In order to grow spiritually, we must start at the root. A lack of balance can cause depression, addiction, hyperactivity, and fear.

The root chakra is responsible for self-preservation, movement, grounding, and self-esteem. It’s also the root of your safety—the base of your strength and survival. It’s a space of personal freedom and the flow of life.

When it’s balanced, there’s an innate sense of safety and freedom. There’s steadfast inner strength and vitality. You feel and know you are whole, regardless of what is or has been.

With a deep breath, send energy to the base of your spine. Fill this space with breath and welcome the bright, fiery red to take root.

Look back in the mirror, speak directly to yourself, and repeat after me:

I am safe. I am protected. I am grounded in the here and now. Anything that causes me to feel unsafe leaves me now because my life is filled with security and deep meaning.

I trust myself.

I love my life.

I am grateful.

I am stable, strong, and abundant.

I am courageous and own who I am.

My body is a safe space for my soul.

I am building my life on the foundation of faith, peace, love, and trust.

I am happy to be alive.

Even when the world feels chaotic, I remained rooted.

All my needs are met.

Everything I need comes to me exactly on time.

My body always takes care of me.

I do not need to worry as I am whole and complete.

I have everything I need.

Like a tree, I am rooted in my life.

I trust the blessing in store for me.

Take another deep full breath and visualize strong roots extending from you to the ground. With those roots in place, imagine a bright red lotus flower blooming from those roots, opening and sending energy down your spine, legs, and into mother earth. What has disrupted you before, no longer has space with you.

You are right where you need to be, as you are, with the lessons and life you currently have.

You are rooted beautifully as you are whole. Your root charka is clear and ready to support you. The flow of abundance is yours. Allow yourself to enjoy this tremendous energy of feeling safe and secure in your place in this world. Rest in a moment of just being. Rest in the rooting.

Offer yourself love, in the mirror and gently allow the image to dissolve. What was in the mirror is within you. All of this radiant light lives within your physical self and your soul.

In your own time, take a deep breath and begin to notice the sounds around you, and become aware of your physical body. Slowly allow yourself to come fully come back. Before you open yourself, know that having the intention to be root is enough. It’s a focus, and where your focus goes, so to does your mind, body, and spirit.

When you are ready, wiggle your fingers and toes, make slight movements with your shoulders and notice how you feel. Hold yourself in loving kindness.

Take one final deep breath and gently open your eyes.

May love, light, and blessings come to you today.

Anytime you need to rebalance and feel grounded within yourself, simply come back to this meditation. It’s always here for you. May peace be with you.
