Epi 54: I Am Holding Space For Myself - April Mini Meditation Reset
When was the last time you gave yourself a mental and emotional boost? Every once in a while, we need to reset and bring ourselves back to center. Feeding yourself positive affirmations allows you to elevate your mood, find a sense of peace, and shift your perspective to help you get your life together, girl!
The Get Your Life Together, Girl mini bi-monthly reset is here to help you reset and remember who you are.
Find a comfortable position and take a full deep breath. If comfortable, close your eyes and become aware of the rise and fall of your chest.
Feel the breath enter your nose and gently travel down into the center of your chest. Visualize the air moving and out through your heart center, letting it flow in and out. Allow your mind to settle into this moment. Breathing in and out. Let the thoughts of what is, or what will be to, leave for just a moment and surrender to yourself, to this moment, to the space within and around you.
Take another full deep breath and let it go.
We live so much of our days outside of ourselves—engaging in what works for others, showing up, listening to opinions. We give our time and energy to those we love and want to see thrive. We prioritize things that do not fulfill us or make us happy. While serving others is a beautiful means of service, when our mental space is nearly always occupied, it’s challenging to check in with ourselves, give to ourselves, and fulfill our needs.
To do so, we must consciously and willing hold space for ourselves. Holding space is the ultimate act of self-acceptance, self-love, and worthiness.
Take another full deep breath and let it go.
Holding space means being with yourself, listening to what is happening within, leaning into your thoughts and feelings, and guiding your actions through balanced effort and focused well-being. To hold space means you accept what is happening in the here and now, acknowledging your truth, regardless of what it looks like or feels like while accepting it from every angle—this kind of space holding revolutionizes self-compassion and inner empowerment.
It goes a step further, too. It offers radical acceptance of the self, which reminds us that we are human. We have needs and those needs of equal importance to those we love, cherish, and look after, no matter what role they play in our lives. When we hold space, we can be honest with ourselves and give ourselves permission to meet those needs.
Take another full deep breath and let it go. Repeat after me if it serves you.
I have a profound choice before me. That choice is to continue to live my life only serving others, leaving myself out of the equation, or I can live my life for myself and then in service.
Today, I’m making the choice to honor my life and live it for me.
While others may claim this is selfish, I now realize that holding space is like an incredible journey home to my soul, to what feeds and nurtures it, and what allows me to be in the driver’s seat of my life. Holding space is never selfish; it’s selfless. I can only give what is within me. I choose me, so that I can be more for others.
Holding this space affords me the opportunity to check my direction and adjust my courses and choices when needed. It brings awareness into my life, ensuring that everything I do reflects my soul’s purpose and deepest desires.
Take another full deep breath and let it go.
My new mission is to meet myself with kindness, compassion, and love, just as I do for those I call my friend, lover, child, or any other label within my presence. As I hold space, I welcome in a level of self-intimacy, a relationship that so many long for, and I now am consciously creating in my life. I am empowering my mind, my body, my soul, my actions, emotions, and purpose by giving myself permission to be all that I came here to be.
Holding space is a way of being, this profound choice, to live in present moment awareness. In doing so, I am slowing down, choosing myself, and owning the truth. The truth is that if I want to truly serve, make a positive impact on the world, meet my purpose and create a legacy in my daily existence, I must befriend and love myself. I must hold the kind of space that allows me to witness my mistakes, offer myself grace, and try again each day with judgment.
I am making room for me—a sacred space where I can find myself over and over again, at every level, at every twist and turn my life takes.
I am impacting my life through openheartedly giving to myself.
I see myself for who I am within this space. And who I am is empathic, compassionate, kind, present, balanced, and at peace. And, now, perhaps for the first time, I am giving myself permission to own and take up this profound, beautiful space.
From here, I know that the light within me that shines upon everyone else has always been meant to shine upon me, too. I welcome it with open arms.
Take a full deep breath and let it go.
Actively release any resistance within you, and give yourself permission to be whole.
Take another deep breath, breathing in wholeness, releasing anything less than love.
Let your mind settle on these words:
I am ready to take up space.
I am ready to take up space,
I am fiercely ready to take up space.
This is my life, my ownership, and I am stepping onto my path with the freedom to live as I feel will best serve me.
Take a full deep breath and let it go.
I AM
I am…Two of the most powerful words in any language. Words that direct our emotions and thoughts into movements that support us.
I am worthy of being on my priority list.
I am loving myself by giving to myself first and foremost.
I am able to hold space for myself without guilt, fear, worry, or self-judgment.
I am giving myself permission to be selfless.
I am free from the need to give more than I have to offer.
I am authentic with my life, and that authenticity means I am a beloved in my own eyes.
I am free to hold my boundaries.
I am free to serve my soul, my needs, my purpose, and my desire.
I am free to me.
I am free to take up space.
Take another full deep breath and let it go.
From now on, trust yourself, give to yourself, and break the cycle of giving more than you have to give. Hold space. Hold abundant space. You are worthy.
Anytime you need a moment to come back to center. Repeat these words and lean into your truth- the truth that you deserve to be seen, valued, and heard. You are deserving of your heart’s desire. This truth starts within; it begins with you.
