Epi 194: What to Remember When You Don’t Feel Good Enough - Mindset Reset

Most of us experience times in our lives when we don’t feel good enough. We struggle with ourselves and wonder why life seems so much easier for everyone else.

Carolina F from Dayton, Ohio, wrote: “Danielle, I wish I could express how much I’ve learned from listening to your podcast. What I’m writing about is the one place that I can find myself back sliding into, which is the feeling of not feeling good enough. What do you suggest that we all have this thought in our heads to get out of it? Thanks for the work you do.”  st is helping you get your life together! I love that you are already experiencing a difference, and to answer your question: yes! There are roughly seven key areas that have dynamic impacts on us. And you’ve already hit on one—sleep! So, let’s jump in and chat about those things. And there is good news for everyone, these impacts are some of the easiest things to change!

So, let’s dive into a few things you can do when the story of not being good enough is owning and dragging you down.

First thing: YOU HAVE THE POWER TO QUESTION YOUR INNER CRITIC.

If you find that what you’ve told yourself is actually true, there are ways to change the story from a negative to a grounded positive.

How?

Start small with one thing you know you need to change so that you feel and know you are capable.

The next thing to keep in mind is to celebrate all wins—even the smallest ones.

Next, remember that it’s important to talk about your feelings or get them out, as it changes our connection to the feelings.

Discuss it with a friend and be willing to take advice. Letting the people close to us offer perspective can be eye-opening.

Don't beat yourself up. There are much better ways to motivate yourself.

And the last thing, at least for now, to remember is to  focus on and take responsibility for the process.

When you are struggling, remember the question am I good enough doesn’t define you. It’s just a question.

You have the power to change the story. I challenge you to start now. I challenge you to change what isn’t working for you.

Carolina, thank you for the question!
